Confetteria Moriondo e Gariglio
A sensual feast with the finest chocolatiers in Rome
Word to the wise: If you are buying chocolates near Easter or Valentine's Day, be prepared to queue as the lines stretch far out the door.
If you were to survey Rome's chocolate lovers on which chocolate shop they think is the best in the city, the hands down favourite of many will be Confetteria Moriondo e Gariglio. Rome's oldest chocolatier was founded by two confectioner cousins from Turin in the 1850s.
There are more than 100 varieties of chocolates that will send your tastebuds into little chocolatey ecstasies. They are all handmade, many using the original recipes created by the shop's namesake cousins.
