Black Light Theatre
Dazzling traditional Czech theatre
Word to the wise: Some Black Light Theatre performances may include adult themes, like sex and drugs, so check before visiting with children.
Mime, puppetry, music, light and sound effects: Black Light Theatre has it all. Except for any dialogue, that is, which makes it the perfect evening entertainment for visitors.
The principle behind Black Light Theatre is that the stage is darkened with UV light, so only items coated in fluorescent paint can be seen, and these move to create visual illusions. But there’s artistry beyond the gimmick, as BLT expresses itself through everything from dance to acrobatics.
The most popular places to see Black Light Theatre are the modern WOW Theatre, just off Wenceslas Square and the traditional All Colours Theatre, located near the Old Town.
