Triton Restaurant
Fantastic food in highly original surroundings
Popular plate: While the traditional Czech fare is unsurprisingly exceptional, the stand-out main is probably the grilled tiger prawns in Thai marinade, with the lemon tagliatelle on the side.
Extremely spacious yet surprisingly intimate, unmistakably Czech yet highly international, thoroughly traditional yet startlingly modern: Triton is a real jumble of pleasing contradictions.
Open since 1912, this famous Prague restaurant in the heart of the city offers excellent food in original and unusual surroundings - where else can you enjoy a sumptuously tender veal steak and a wonderful Moravian Sauvignon in an environment shared with tropical fish, ornate Greek sculptures and dangling stalactites?
Prepare to pay a little more for a meal in Triton than elsewhere, and book at least a night in advance.
