Schwartz's is a landmark on Boulevard Saint-Laurent that has been serving a world-famous smoked meat sandwich on the same premises over 80 years. Differentiating itself from other smoked meats in terms of flavour and curing technique, Schwartz's smoked meat is known for its savory, peppery taste.
The owners have refused to open other branches or sell franchises, and its exclusivity means that there is always a queue outside Schwartz's, no matter the hour. Also in testimony to the owners' convictions, Schwartz' has resisted raising prices over the years and portion sizes remain huge.
