Al Hallab Restaurant and Sweets

Top Lebanese eats

Popular plate: Bring a group and order up some of the smokiest baba ganoush around. It comes with a seemingly endless supply of fluffy, oven-warm pita.

Word to the wise: Al Hallab easily has the best baklava in Dubai. Their baklava towers make a great souvenir to bring back.

Hit up any of the Al Hallab branches (all massive, airy, two-storey affairs), and you’ll likely find it packed with Lebanese expats. There’s a logical explanation: the food’s outstanding.

Big groups do well to go in on a set of hot and cold mezze, and follow up with a mixed grill. The beauty of Al Hallab, though, is they also quickly dish out food on the go. Go in for a drooling cheese manakish (pastry dripping with dairy), or a sturdy and cheap chicken shawarma.
