A music venue welcoming both sinners and saints
Tipple of choice: The Seven Deadly Sins are all embodied as cocktails so you can drink your way to hell. Lust - Spanish brandy, lavender honey and chocolate port - may ease your fall from grace.
Word to the wise: The attached restaurant is worth visiting for its upscale comfort food and weekend brunch.
Each week, more than 15 bands playing everything from indie-rock to metal and post-punk perform at Church, a gothic-inspired music club with space enough for 225 devotees who can drink and dance next to gargoyles and walls draped in crimson. With a last call at 1.45am and a menu featuring pork pate and duck confit, Church redefines the holy experience.
The performances vary in genre and fame, so check the schedule beforehand. Even if you're not a specific groupie, you will be converted by the cocktails created to celebrate not just the Seven Deadly Sins but also the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
