Cozy restaurants for a quick, inexpensive feast

This small chain of restaurants - there are two on Passeig de Gràcia - recreate the food and atmosphere of a typical northern Spanish bar, with wood interiors, photos of old Basque men on the walls and a wide selection of pintxos on the menu.

There were 51 varieties of pintxos at the last count, so you're sure to find something to tickle your tastebuds. The menu includes photos and numbers to help with ordering - a bit touristy, yes, but it does make things easy. We like the Arantxa with shrimp, bacon and mushrooms and the Gros, a mini-entrecote with Roquefort sauce.
