The World of Coca-Cola
A museum dedicated to the brand that rules the world
Noteworthy for: The highlight for many is the tasting room where you can sample Coke flavors, over 60, from around the world.
Word to the wise: Closing hours change frequently. Call ahead for up-to-date times and early closings. The last ticket is usually issued 90 minutes before the closing time.
The World of Coke (as it is called) may be another famous marketing strategy by the company, but it's a fun one. The plain and simple truth is that Coca-Cola has been a major player in the recent economic and cultural history of the world, so this humble soda has quite a story to tell, beginning in downtown Atlanta in 1886.
You'll find 20 acres of memorabilia, historic advertising campaigns and artwork, as well as multiple theaters. Some of this you'll inevitably want to skip (it will be obvious what - like the room where people pose for photos with the giant Coca-Cola polar bear), but some areas are quite worth a visit: the gallery of the history of the famous logo, the pop art and pop culture exhibition, the bottling line reenactment, and of course the tasting room, which also brings a sugar rush.
